Teaching Assistant Position for Saturday Web Developer Bootcamp


The following is a contract position with Academy Pittsburgh to help facilitate a Saturday morning boot camp that teaches students from the City of Pittsburgh how to write code in common software languages. Sessions run every Saturday from April, 22nd through August 26th, 2017, from 9AM to Noon. Contracted individual will help the session instructors create summative and formative assessments to measure student progress, collect data on student achievement, and create consumable reports. Teaching assistant will record and publish examples of student work with commentary about best-practice methods developed or discovered on a blog. He or she will provide interventions and classroom management to increase student productivity and learning and advise two professional software developers who are responsible for instruction and curriculum development about best-practice methodologies.  No technical experience is required but a strong background in science or math is recommended. An employment history of working with students from the City of Pittsburgh School District is also sought. Pennsylvania child abuse clearances and criminal background check required.
